Let me begin by saying that I am not a fan of the series of books. I did read them all, and except for the fourth one, they were to teenage girl for me. All this angsty kiss-me-don’t-kiss-me-I-might-eat-you really got on my nerves after awhile. And to have it go on for three plus books. It is really no wonder that teenage girls went gaga over the series.
Is it the next Harry Potter? Hell no.
Now the movie. I liked it. It wasn’t a bad film, over all. I think it managed to condense the less annoying parts of the book into a decent story. The scenery was beautiful, as were all the people. Robert Patinson is definitely all yummy broodiness. The boy who plays Emmet is freaking HOT! Damn. And the acting wasnt that bad, although it did get funny that Bella was not at all fazed that he was a vampire.
Wouldn’t you even question it? Just a little bit? And the way she threw herself at Edward.. Let’s just say I was shocked at her sluttiness. Ok, I was jealous as hell. I wouldn’t have waited that long.
It is such a teenage girl thing to fall hopelessly in love with a boy she just met. Especially when that boy keeps stalking her to tell her they can’t be friends. What? Everytime she turns around, there he is telling her to stop talking to him.
Anyway, the big question is, would I watch it again? Yeah, I think I would. I enjoyed it. I wish I would have kept it longer to watch all of the special features. Is it going to be one I’d watch over and over and over? No. But it does make me look forward to the next one.
